Control Room Operator (CRO)
Control Room Operators must be technically competent and comfortable with computers and able to work calmly during stressful times while maintaining a pleasant and efficient demeanor.
Control Room Operators will staff the BHS Control Room and:
-Alert Siemens maintenance personnel through radio communications of faults or failures and dispatch them to the appropriate location.
-Maintain BHS Call Logs in an accurate and timely manner.
-Monitor and adjust line balancing.
-Monitor laser array statistics.
-Monitor and prepare statistical reports.
-Make BHS operational decisions, initiating and coordinating implementation of any backup/fallback procedures necessary to allow continued operations.
-Function as a central communication point for all things BHS related.
-Interface with the user airlines and airport personnel as necessary.
The Control Room Operator’s skill set should include a thorough understanding of the Baggage Handling System, a high level of comfort with PC based computer systems (networking plus hardware and software skills), the ability to identify fault/error messaging, the ability to communicate with maintenance and operational support personnel, the ability to work under pressure and a professional demeanor.
Specific knowledge of Siemens PLC’s, Profibus, Profinet. Peer to Peer communications. Ability to trouble shoot systems faults and initiate a recovery plan. Possess the ability to read through ladder logic for PLC programs and identify problems and suggest solutions.
